Character Counts!
The PWCBF provides cash prizes for the annual Character Counts Essay Contest which is sponsored in local middle schools by the PWCBA, in conjunction with the Greater Manassas Character Counts! Coalition. The essay contest is conducted each Fall during National Character Counts! Week to encourage middle school student to focus on the meaning of the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. The winning essay from each of the six pillars is awarded a cash prize along with donations from local merchants. The award-winning essays are then incorporated into a traveling exhibition for display in various public locations throughtout Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.
